12th Match, Group A: Deccan v Trinidad & T at Hyderabad
Oct 14 (20:00 local, 14:30 GMT)
Deccan Chargers entered into Champions League as the most fancied team, but flatered at their first step. They lost in the hands of Sussex Sharks and now end up in a perform-or-perish situation. They got to win this match to stand any chance of sealing berth to the next round.
Their captain Adam Gilchrist is not one to brood over the loss; he is capable to quickly remote turn the mood in the dressing room. The practical skipper is not only a great striker of the ball on his day, but is a good planner and executioner as well. Gilly believes, team should put up a good show and success will come to their feet. I would love to see his game strategy against the less fancied minnow team Trinidad & Tobago.
On the other hand, the Island nation team Trinidad & Tobago came to the League with no big names other than Bravo brothers and Ramden. Dwayne Bravo is a great all rounder nonetheless an erratic performer too. On his day, he strikes with bat and ball.
His younger brother Darren Bravo too is getting a lesson or two from his brother to cope up the international exposure and suit to play in different formats of the game. Their Captain Daren Ganga is oozing confidence that they have what it takes to beat the likes of Deccan Chargers. Time has answer for this match; while

11th Match, Group B: Eagles v Sussex at Delhi
Oct 13 (20:00 local, 14:30 GMT)
Diamond Eagles will play in a key encounter tomorrow against Sussex Sharks.
The Diamond Eagles team from South Africa came to the subcontinent without a clue of T20 matches. They were outplayed by the NSW Blues in what had been a one-sided match. There had been nothing great that the Eagles would like to take from the match, other than Shadley van Schalkwyk’s 2 wicket haul and Ryan McLaren’s 40.
The captain looked rusty and did not have answer to the NSW Blues’ bowling, there looked not much confidence or spirit within the team, but Boeta Dippenar is an experienced campaigner and can change the dressing room atmosphere. The match against Sussex Sharks is crucial and they will have to win with a convincing margin against the Sussex Sharks.
For Sussex Sharks too this is a crucial tie and they will play for a win and a possible scale to the next level of the league. Their fancied players including Piyush Chawla, Dwayne Smith were hammered by the NSW Blues players Philip Hughes and Moises Henriques who were awesome helping their team post a big 130/2.
Although 131 wasn’t a huge target to chase, none of the Sussex batsmen applied and they looked off focus and went off in quick succession scoring mean 95 runs. Now if they are to win against Diamond Eagles, they will have to stay focused and play as per plan.
The winner of this match is tough to predict.

Victoria vs Wayamba Champions League T20 Cricket, Online Live Score, Highlights 2009
10th Match, Group D: Victoria v Wayamba at Delhi
Oct 13 (16:00 local, 10:30 GMT)
Victoria Bushrangers shocked Delhi Daredevils and put up a great show that left them with 2 points in the Group D. They will play the Sri Lankan team Wayamba tomorrow to seal a berth to the next level. Clint McKay had been outstanding for Victorian Bushrangers taking prized wickets of Virender Sehwag, Dilshan and Owais Shah and actually broken the back bone of the Delhi Daredevils. No wonder they could just post 98/8. In reply, Cameron White men scored 100 with 7 wickets and 3 plus overs to spare. Rob Quiney top scored and the captain chipped in with a cameo as well. The team is high on confidence and will look to bury Wayamba clueless in tomorrow’s encounter.
Wayamba Elevens on the other hand had a pathetic start with their match against the Delhi Daredevils. Daredevils posted a mammoth 170. They had some outstanding batting performances by Sehwag and Dinesh Karthik. Who said Sehwag is injured? The island team had a poor start, Dirk Nannes had been the destroyer of their top order and McGrath bowling after a long break never looked rusty and could take 2 wickets. Although Mahela Jayawardena top scored 170 is a big chase and they could reach just 120. The team is lagging with a negative run rate, so if they are to stand chance they will have outplay the Bushrangers quite convincingly, which is mostly unlikely thing to happen. The performers will go to the next level and losers will head home.

Having multi-skilled, flamboyant players in the line-up is a bonus but the basic premise of sound batting, bowling and fielding ability is vital - the Cobras are fortunate on that front. The side also boasts the services of Charl Langeveldt who has impressed with his wicket-taking ability over the years.
Otago Volts:
Otago Volts are a New Zealand side that have been based at the University Oval for the last five seasons before which they played at Carisbrook. Otago adopted the name Volts, but still no change of luck. Now, boasting the services of the most exciting wicket-keeper batsman today - Brendon McCullum - the Volts are finally turning the corner; or are hoping to. They won their first major trophy in March, 2008, after nearly two decades, but have a bigger task at hand. Shaggy, Jamelia to perform at Champions League T20 Opening Ceremony
The Garden City of Bengaluru will be the epicentre of cricket fans as the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 kicks-off this week. The cricketing quotient aside, fans will be treated to an eye-catching line-up of entertainers at the Grand Opening Ceremony at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The Opening Ceremony promises to be a breath-taking visual extravaganza which will showcase world-class international acts and the global nature of the tournament. Just prior to the commencement of the Opening Ceremony, the 12 team captains participating in the inaugural edition of the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 will exchange team flags and take the "MCC - Spirit of Cricket" oath to respect their opponents, their teams and their umpires. The captains will then leave their handprints in clay, as an attestation to play the game within the spirit of cricket. Meanwhile 200 school children will perform a choreographed sequence to the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 theme song before revealing the team logos and releasing balloons.
The Opening Ceremony's entertainment will then kick-off in earnest with 12 world-renowned Japanese drummers electrifying the atmosphere within Chinnaswamy Stadium. This will be followed by international dancers in "Michelle Ferranti's" costumes.
Legendary Grammy award winner CHAKA KHAN will then take centre stage to entertain the crowd and viewing audience with her hit single "I FEEL FOR YOU".
Chaka Khan will be followed by the acrobatic Cube Artists. Next on from China, will be a choreographed group of Shaolin Monks displaying Tai Chi, Kung Fu and powerful Chi Kung movements in an adrenalin-packed sequence, surrounded by the agile Kalaripayattu Artists using an ancient South Indian art form. The weaponry, choreography and fast-paced techniques by these Indo-Chinese performers will leave the audience spellbound as it will depict the aggression and spirit with which the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 will be played.
World renowned reggae artist and Grammy Award winner SHAGGY will then perform his hit single "FEEL THE RUSH", accompanied by a multi-coloured laser show which will encase the entire stadium. To complement this, eight wind dancers will engulf the stadium to give fans a surreal effect.
British pop star JAMELIA will then take over with her international super hit song "SUPERSTAR".
For the grand finale, all the artists, including the children, will converge onto the field to a synchronized segment of lights, laser, concert sound and a display of fireworks that will come together to make for a spectacular climax.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will play Cape Cobras in the inaugural match of the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) 2009. The match will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore and will begin at 8:00 pm local time.
The inaugural Champions League Twenty20 gets underway at Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday with hosts and IPL runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Cape Cobras from South Africa. Cricket's first global inter-club tournament, it is the latest twist in a format that is only seven years but has established itself as the game's main money-spinner.
That element of uncertainty was summed up by Herschelle Gibbs, a key player for the Cobras. "We have a good team and a lot of the guys have been around for a while but this is Twenty20 and anything can happen. As I said earlier it is about the team performing well on a given day that wins matches, but I think Royal Challengers will be one of the favourites."
The 23 matches in the 16-day tournament are spread between Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad. The 12 teams have been divided into four groups of three each with IPL runners-up Bangalore grouped with Cape Cobras and Otago, while IPL champions Deccan Chargers are in a pool with Stanford 20/20 winners Trinidad and Tobago and the Somerset, runners-up of England's Twenty20 Cup.
Delhi Daredevils are grouped with Victoria, the runners-up in the Australian domestic competition, and the Sri Lanka champions Wayamba. The other group comprises the Australian title-holders New South Wales, South Africa's Eagles and Sussex, winner of England's Twenty20 Cup.
The top two teams will qualify for the second round where two groups of four each will compete in a round-robin league. The top four teams will make it to the semi-finals, which will be played in New Delhi, on October 21, and Hyderabad, on October 22.
